Montauk, NY - Live House Burn
Montauk FD, along side with Amagansett FD, East Hampton FD and Firematic Mfg. conducted a live burn of a home
in Montauk, New York on Sunday, April 13, 2003.
During the burn, Firematic Mfg. was allowed to test their unique compressed air foam system, Porta-CAFS®,
against the raging house fire and also to protect the surrounding exposures.
The Porta-CAFS
® unit, along with Firematic's B.R.A.T.
®, worked flawlessly. It knocked down the fire
within seconds leaving a silky white layer glued to the structure of the house. The Porta-CAFS® unit was a major
success both in fighting the fire and protecting the surrounding exposures.
